Hi everyone. I celebrated 64 wonderful years on this earth today. I was born at 10:10 am in Wilkes Barre General Hospital in Pa. I was an eager little thing and decided to be born 2 months early. Mom had toxemia so it was touch and go for both of us. I weighed 2 lbs. and 6 oz. and was 12 inches long. The joke from my Uncle (Mom's brother) was that I wouldn't even make a good size roast. He was right! I was the Princess of the nursery and was nicknamed "Thumper" because I would kick the cover off me and place my foot on the glass of the incubator. I remained in the hospital for 6 weeks and was allowed to go home when I weighed 5 pounds. At first Mom couldn't even hold me but we bonded anyway. Mom had to feed me with a Breck feeder every 2 hours for months. My Nana lived next door so she came and helped every day too. She and I became very close through the years. As I looked back on my birth today I am so grateful to God for letting Mom and I both live. I feel so blessed today. I have a wonderful life.
I have a dear friend who turned 76 yesterday and we celebrate our special day together on either her day or mine. This year it was today. We went to Ruby Tuesdays for lunch. She gave me a darling cat pin and I gave her a pretty red butterfly pin. I love cats and she loves butterflies. Then the waitress brought each of us a free birthday cup cake for desert. My friend doesn't like cake so she gave me hers. (No, I didn't eat both of them!) I brought them home and Arjay and I will share them as our treat tonight.
Arjay gave me two beautiful bead necklaces. He also made my favorite fish for my birthday dinner. ( I haven't cooked in 37 years) He is a wonderful cook. Anyway, we had grilled salmon, fresh asparagus and rice. It was a wonderful dinner.
I also received many beautiful and funny cards from my friends and family. My sister sent me a gift card from Amazon to buy books for my Kindle. I had fun doing some shopping this afternoon.
So there you have how I celebrated my life today. Thanks again to all of you who sent goodies, wishes and notes. I love you all.
