Been Saving Like Crazy at the Grocery Store

Friday, September 14, 2012

I used tons of coupons yesterday at two different stores and saved lots of money, but I'm too lazy and exhausted to even post how many and how much, LOL.

After we did school I ran to the library (our little library is only open 3 days a week so you have to go when it's open) and then to a discount mom and pop grocery store where I found lots more deals on things like 59 cents Wilton squeeze icing that I plan to use on my son's birthday cake.

I got some Balance and other name brand protein bars for 25 cents each and got some Amy's canned soup for 79 cents a can.

My husband is taking next week off from work which is good since he has been under lots of stress lately. I'm not sure if we will even do much of anything as far as a vacation goes, but at least it will be a break for him.

Emptynester - That's so sweet of you to say. No need to feel guilty about not using coupons and living so close to Harris Teeter (although I wish I did live that close, LOL). With it only being one in your household it is understandable that you wouldn't want to stockpile like I do.

I am working harder now at finding deals but I am finding them, which is good. I am not stockpiling as much as I used to due to not having HT, but that's probably a good thing as well, LOL.

I do feel bad that the Harris Teeter by you has closed. I have one less than a mile away (within walking distance if it wasn't for the traffic) and do shop there often. I live alone so don't really do coupons and sometimes feel guilty when I don't knowing how much you would love to be shopping with me. Keep up the good work looking for bargains everywhere - you're doing a great job!

Nissangirl - You did great at the outlet store! emoticon emoticon If you don't mind me asking, what was the name of the store you went to or is it more of a Mom & Pop type store?

EMPTYNESTER60 - Thanks so much. I still mourn Harris Teeter not being here but did get to go a few weeks ago to a small one that is in a town I normally don't drive to. They (HT) are having super doubles this week (up to a $2 coupon is doubled to $4) and it's driving me nuts, but I've been lucky to find other deals in my area although not as good as that.

Good to see you are still saving even though Harris Teeter isn't around your area any more. I had no doubt you would find a way to keep it up. emoticon emoticon emoticon
