You Are Never Too Old

Thursday, September 13, 2012

Once upon a time, I put all of my dreams away in a steel drum. Then along came this thought that I didn't hafto bury my dreams because they were good dreams. So along came SparkPeople.com and all my cheerleaders there, and a few lifelong friends joined in, and so did my kids. Eventually, my husband thought he'd join the band allbeit reluctantly.

I took a few of my old dreams out of the barrel, just a few little ones, didn't want to go hogwild and be disappointed, ya know. I saw those li'l dreams to fruition and sparked some new ones. And now here I am watching many of my dreams come to be!!!

I am dreaming more than my share of dreams that might come true! Dreaming with my kids, dreaming with my girlfriends, dreaming with a few young ins, dreaming with several organizations, dreaming my own BIG-time dreams. The possibilities are endless and the satisfaction is tremendous for this old lady that is not acting her age!

"Life without dreams is life without hope." I'm not sure where I heard that quote, but now you have found hope again and are enjoying life. As for acting our age, remember that you are only as old as you feel. I think I'm like Peter Pan--I won't grow up!!!

What happens when you really can't think of or remember any dreams. I am only 55 and really don't know what I want to do. Right now my dream is to be able to walk without pain after a bad bout of sciatica. But do I want to go to school? not really, what kind of job do I want cos can't go back to the one I was doing ? have no idea other than it can't be sitting long or standing at all or walking long, All I do know is I want to move from the city and be near water and that won't happen till sorry to say dad passes away as we are moving him in with us. Maybe that is it, I have put my dreams in that box for so long Ithey are so buried I haven't a clue how to find them........
YOU on the other hand are doing awesome. I am so happy for you! WAY to go!
