No solution for takeout food

Day 13: What has been the hardest life style change you've made for the sake of losing weight, getting fit, or becoming healthier? Any tips for making that change easier?

The hardest change for me has been to quit getting takeout so much. It's nice to get something when you're tired or celebrating. But there are very few places I can go, only Applebees, Chipotle, or Jimmy John's. Otherwise it's salad or grilled chicken breast, both of which I make often at home for little money and a lot less calories. Sometimes my son and husband will get something and I'll just make a sandwich. There's so few choices out there.

I don't have any tips because I haven't got this one figured out.

    My solution to take-out is that is a splurge. We have several local places - a gyro place, the pizza stand, an Ayurvedic Indian place, the vegetarian/vegan place and teh local BBQ place all have low calorie options. Usually, I split something with the spousal unit and then supplement with a big salad at home. Or I order all veggie sides. (For example, the BBQ place makes amazing collards and sweet potatoes and green beans, etc. I can make a meal of the veggies and have a few bites of my husband's BBQ/meat.)

    Well you could try making a roast and then using the leftovers later on in the week. I am not sure if its a timee issue or do you just not enjoying cooking? It seems to me perhaps ts not an activity you particularily enjoy? emoticon

    I don't know how many calories you can have, when I go to applebees I will chose no appetizer usually fish or the steak, and since they give you the calories it helps a lot. Good luck (even fast food offers pretty good options in a pinch) good luck!
