Wow

Thursday, September 13, 2012

I was perusing my benefits at work the other day and noticed that abortions are paid at 80% after the deductible is met. IVF is not covered. There is some sort of group discount program for family planning and although infertility treatment is covered 80% after the deductible, the only thing the insurance covers is artificial insemination.

I guess I just find it ironic that the insurance will do a lot to help prevent pregnancy and even end it but very little to help a couple who wants to have a baby.

Seriously. And who can afford insurance anymore? My co-worker had back surgery and now is without insurance because it would cost her over $600.00 per month with a $6,000.00 deductible!!! Ridiculous! emoticon
