I have read so many good things about meditation recently that I have decided to set a meditation goal for myself.
I will meditate daily and also keep some sort of journal to watch my progression.
I have been reading a book, The Joy Factor, by Susan Smith Jones, and there she talks much about that studies "found that after training in meditation for eight weeks, subjects showed a pronounced change in brain-wave patterns, shifting from the beta waves of aroused, conscious thought to the alpha and theta waves that dominate the brain during periods of deep relaxation."
Concentrative meditation focuses the attention on the breath. How hard can that be? 15 minutes a day listening to my breath and I get numerous health benefits. Sounds like a win - win situation to me. :-)
