Walking and Exercising: Post breakup and to fight depression

After not exercising for awhile regularly, I've decided to recommit myself once again. After getting to the 165+ range (5' 6" height), I am now at about 156. I am barely overweight, using the Body Mass Index as my guide. I can't remember being 144 2 years ago! but I was. Anyway, just going through a break up has inspired me to lose weight and exercise, as well as improve my life in other ways. I know exercising will improve my mood and confidence, so I'm trying to recommit myself. Of course feeling better and looking better will help me as I re-enter the dating scene. Hopefully fighting off the bad moods and sadness as well.
As far as a weight loss goal, I don't really see myself in the 120's- not yet anyway. I think 130-145 would be a good goal. Let's see if I can get there first.
Goal 1- (2 lbs.) 154- BMI- 24.9 "no longer overweight"
Goal 2- (4 lbs.) 150
Goal 3- (4 lbs.) 146
Goal 4- (4 lbs.) 142
Goal 5- (4 lbs.) 138
Goal 6- (4 lbs.) 134
There are 15 weeks left till New Year's. 3 months. At 1 lb. a week, I'd like to try to lose 15 lbs. and reach 140 by January 1, 2013.
I started right by walking 2 miles today. I'd like to walk 2 miles a day, 5x a week to start for the month of September. By October I'd like to add strength training and by November, I'd like to start running.
