I have lost over 100 pounds!

Wednesday, September 12, 2012

Don't get too excited. I HAVE lost over 100 pounds BUT the reality is that I have lost the SAME 5 pounds at least twenty times! Last night at book club I saw my girlfriend and she had lost twenty-five pounds over the summer. Twenty-five pounds!!! That is my "in a perfect world" goal. And I saw what a difference a twenty-five pound loss made on her. And my other book club friend took off on a month long pilgrimage trek on the El Camino de Santiago in France/Spain and returned 15 pounds lighter and can now wear anything and everything she wants and look great. (we had been the same weight/height). Both of these women are in my age range (52-54). So now I am the only chubby one left. I feel stuck. I am stuck.

You are not stuck, but you may be in a rut. Learn from the past . . .be honest about what isn't working for you. You are worth the effort! BTW, I don't even know how many pounds I've lost - but I can tell you it's probably over 200. This time is my last time!!!!

I did the same thing, for a long time - that is, lost the same amount of weight, then gained it back. Check out this half-full glass: if you keep losing and regaining the same five pounds, at least you're not gaining one hundred pounds, so there is a silver lining to the cloud!

Now, the question is, regardless of what your friends did or didn't do - what are YOU planning to do?
