Really? Yes, really! I decided yesterday that I'm going to go to Homecoming weekend at LHU for the first time since I graduated 10 years ago. You are probably thinking...no big deal, right?
Well, I'm going to run the Homecoming 5K race that morning.
The race is October 20th.
I had decided that I wasn't going to run a 5K after a Friday night football game. I'm the athletic trainer for our school. I stand pretty much the entire game plus warm up. I'm lucky to sit for a few minutes during half-time. My legs hurt really bad after my race.
So that is part of the "I have lost my mind." The second part is I'm going to run another 5K not even two weeks after the Homecoming 5K. This one is a benefit/endowment fund race. It is for a good cause. This race is November 4th.
Now I've really lost my mind. 2 5K races within 2 weeks of each other. I'll have little over a month between my 1st race and the 2nd race. But 2 weeks...what I am I thinking.
I'm thinking that I have come to enjoy running. I may not be the fastest runner out there but I keep moving forward. I keep reminding myself of where I was 12 weeks ago. I don't want to go back to that person. I'm exercising regularly, tracking my food daily and enjoying the compliments that I get. I've lost 15 lbs plus inches. I don't want to go back. Forward is where I'm going.
So I have lost my mind but in a good way.
That is what I'm doing. How about you?
