What Did We Do On Our 58th Wedding Anniversary???
Tuesday, September 11, 2012
It was a gorgeous day in NC, one that reminded us that Fall is just around the corner.
Was our 58th wedding anniversary and our son and wife's 18th. We all did the same thing - worked like fools!!! My husband worked hard outdoors cutting up tree that fell, power-washing the deck, and was busy from 7AM to 7 PM. I had plenty to do indoors, then got granddaughter at school to take to orthodontist. Washed hardwood floors when I got home. We had late dinner of leftovers, DH ate in one room while I sat in another. Now wasn't that a romantic way to spend an anniversary???
Our son and wife were extremely busy with work, then taking kids to various activities, etc. and there was just no time to do anything special.
Nice that I cooked a big chicken dinner last night and we all sat down together. DIL had steak dinner for all of us on Sunday.
Guess the moral of the story is that if you have a good, solid marriage, you don't have to make a big deal of an anniversary. We will do special things at another time!
58 years is a long time, yet it has gone by so quickly!!!
