This isn't one, LOL! My guest speaker today...

The Divine Miss O

My little old soul girl (she's 8) was jonesing to go bike riding with her Dad after church yesterday, and he was sort of taking his time about it.

Finally came the frustrated "Daaad!!!"

He replied, "I just have to change (implied: out of church clothes)."

...quick as a whip, right back at him, she countered, "Well... I might as well forget it then... real change could take you forever!

Then she danced and giggled with delight at her own play on words... until dad had changed sufficiently to join her riding, LOL!

I smiled to note that she really does listen to me occasionally, LOL!

Silly as she was being, Miss O reminded me of something I think we all tend to forget... if we wait to have the life we want until we've changed sufficiently to participate in it fully, we'd never have the life we want.

I think we forget sometimes that we are one big biofeedback system... we aren't static, or ever 'complete'... our lot in life is to continuously struggle and change and revert and grow further... and we're very hard (much too hard) on ourselves in the process.

(Tough Mudder course... I, my husband and our daughter are going to do one of these, or something similar, one day sooner than later)

If you are engaged in the process of change to any degree, you are going to continue to evolve for the better... even if it isn't in a straightforward, linear fashion... you are so much more than your setbacks and mistakes. If you keep your focus on who you really are, what truly makes you happy, and what you really want in your life, you will always be moving forward, no matter how many detours you encounter as life happens.

If you're here, you are so on the right path... just keep going, and don't hate on the scenery... it's there to teach, encourage, challenge, inspire, tempt, enlighten, embellish, and provide contrast so that you have ample opportunity to continue to choose and refine your best life!

Go, YOU!!!

"Lifestyle is unencumbered by obstacles. This means that the things I keep tripping over are something other than obstructive. They are instructive, and part of the directions on my map. Lifestyle is intentional and specific to me. Lifestyle is experiencing, expressing and enjoying every aspect of my life intensely and ardently to the full... even as I reach for more." _RAMONA, 2009

Hilarious! How old is she? She reminds me of my grand-daughter (7).

Kids are a stitch. And it's amazing at what they really do pick up on!

Your blogs are very, very inspirational and so appreciated by ALL of us!!

One of my friends did the tough mudder this summer. She enjoyed it but said it was cold. Your right about winding paths too. I just keep moving!

    "This isn't one" lol!

That sounds like something I would do.

Miss O is gorgeous. I haven't seen a pic of her in a while. Just look at those eyes. She looks wise beyond her years. And yet those eyes are full of all the hope and promise of an innocent child.

I love the rules of the tough mudder course. I especially appreciate the one about putting teamwork and camaraderie ahead of personal time. In a world of competition and "let's get them" mentality, that is a refreshing twist.

What a clever little pickle pot your daughter is! Adorable. I've never heard of Tough Mudder courses but after clicking on the link they look like a real challenge and lots of fun too (although I'm not sure about running through 4 ft high flames !!). Thanks for the inspiring for thought emoticon emoticon emoticon
