This is a very important quote from Calvin Coolidge:
Nothing in the world can take the place of Persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan 'Press On' has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race.
I posted this to encourage myself. I've eaten right to the top limit of my current calorie goal for today. My other family members are tucked into bed. I'd like to do a little grazing in the kitchen right now, but it won't pay off in a good way. So, I'm resisting the urge.
Also, I put a pair of jeans on that were very tight 15 pounds ago. They fit now and are loose in the thighs. But my waist size has not lost at the same rate as my thighs, so I am as apple-shaped as ever. Grrrrr . . . I'm frustrated by this. In losing 15 pounds, I kid you not, I've only lost 1 inch in my waist. BUT, Persistence will pay off, later, even in the waist.
