New options...

Sunday, September 09, 2012

Well, just one, really. So we're wanting to move, & needing it, in a way, because living on the 2nd floor is just too hard anymore, esp for my better half. I went looking online in the general area & emailed the guy a few times. It's 1st floor, they ALLOW cats (we have 3), it's just a deposit up front & a little hike per mth in addition to rent. We checked out the pics, LOTS of room. The rent basically covers all but electric (obviously not phone, cable). It's newer, modern, & in a nice area. Here's the dilemma... neither of us work (I DO want to get back eventually). We both are getting disability. My credit beyond sucks. I got sucked in when I was in college, applying for all the cards & of course, getting them. My sweetie has better credit (not perfect.) I'm thinking we just give it a try & fill out the application. As far as bills & rent, she has always paid them on time. I mean bills like non credit card. When I moved here, I moved in with her & where we live now, the landlord was a friend of mine (no longer, so it's just stressful being here, you know?) But every place will check credit & there are like NO places out there that allow pets, or just one. Our kitties are abt 11 years old (the 2 boys) & the girl is abt 8-9. I just feel so stuck & hopeless..... emoticon

I remember being in that situation once a long time ago. Basically, I was just straight up with the landlord from the get-go. Told him that he would basically find a crappy credit rating due to college, but that I was good for the rent. Was able to show him my good history of paying rent & bills (cleared checks, monthly receipts from my previous apartment's rent, utilities, etc.) Because I had the proof to back it up, he let the credit check slide. Just something you may want to consider trying.

Good luck!!!

That is tough, it seems as if you need a lot of patience and taking one step at a time. emoticon

Don't forget to pray and focus on the positive.
You just might get the bigger place!

Good luck,
