No loss again, but interesting discoveries!

I did not lose again this week. I did have a piece of chocolate cake, and a few cookies this week, though. And those indulgences led to some interesting discoveries.

I am fairly certain that sugar causes my migraines. I didn't have ANY migraines for almost 2 months - which is pretty unheard of for me. They seem to come around the time of my period, but while I was following the dietician's plan, even during my period I didn't get any. Since I started having a few bits of sugar now and then, I've had multiple migraines. The morning after having cake, I woke up with one. Last night I had 2 small cookies, and this morning I woke up with one.

It's one thing when the insides of your body are doing unheard of things when you eat sugar, but you never actually feel the effects. FEELING the effects makes the reaction I have SO MUCH MORE REAL. It totally lessens my desire to eat sugar - even with those cookies staring me in the face as we speak - knowing how I feel. Headaches are like my achilles heel - more debilitating to me than almost any other ailment I've ever had. So a migraine is worse than that - and now that I feel like I know what causes them, knowing I can AVOID them?? Talk about power!

So, I didn't lose this week. But I can tell I toned up. I have back muscles now! Like...RIPPLES in my back that are NOT fat! My students noticed my arm muscles this week and one of them (he's 12, but about 6'2 and 250 lbs of pure muscle - other students mistook him for the new PE teacher) challenged me to arm wrestle. So changes are happening. I am going to make it a point to measure myself today and see if anything else is changing. My clothes are all fitting well, my new pants are even starting to get a little loose - I don't have to unbutton them to pull them down. So progress is being made.

Honestly, I'd be fine staying at 183 for the rest of my life if I could continue to lose inches and tone up. I'd like to be around a size 6-8 or so ideally, and if I stay at 183 to do that, so be it. I don't see that happening, as I'm only 5'2 and right now I'm a 12-14, but hey, our bodies are mysterious like that.

As far as the house goes, we tore out the bathroom vanity this morning! I am going to spend my day framing out that bathroom wall behind the toilet, and then this week we will get the floor installed and next weekend we'll get the paneling up! Then we put in the new vanity, new toilet, and viola it's done! HOORAY!!!

    Wow that is quite a discovery! So great to hear you can avoid your migraines! I deal with a lot of ppl with food allergies at my job. I heard about a little old woman who passes out from eating chocolate even a small bit. Her family was getting her carob. Have you tried carob products instead yet? They take a little getting used to but they make a good sub in a pinch. Love carob raisins. Congrats on your ripples, makes me wanna hit the weight room! Keep up your awesome work!

    Awesome that you found out what triggers your migraines. That can be more than half the battle. I would love to tone up like you are. Work in progress right :) I think there would have to be a stall in loss as fat and muscle switch places. I think you will start seeing scale movement again soon. You are doing such a great job!

    Wow! Sounds like you're doing great! And discovering the migraine source is a wonderful thing. I used to get them around that time of the month too. But I got that fixed. :) Haven't had one in years (knock on wood). Best of luck on your journey.
