When you reach your target!

I expect most of us think at times we will never reach the magic number of our dreams. Believe ,you will do.
There is no yellow brick road to follow ,unless you design your own and maybe buy red shoes,if they help you travel your own road.
I am at my target though I find that hard to believe.
Maintaining it is the next step. I am learning that arriving at what ever
number you feel is right for you, is not a licence to go back to the ways that set us off to the target.
It means maintain, which in my dictionary means support, defend, keep supplied,
support by argument ,that is a defiinition I like. I have needed to argue to defend myself at times, friends who say surely you can eat this do that now.?
No we can't.
I do not want to put anyone off their aim, thinking it is still a lot of work when I reach it. Yes it is but we have learnt a lot on the way, we know we feel and look better. It is worth it.
For me it took a long time to lose my excess weight,maybe a pound a month on average
But I got there and so will you.

    Switching to mainternance can be as difficult as losing at first. Learning that you can't just go back to old habits can be difficult. I have seen many people here talk about going on one diet or another because they can lose so much weight quickly. What they are forgetting is that SP is not about just losing weight it is about developing a healthy lifestyle that allows you to lose weight and keep it off. Most diets have a focus of losing weight but then leave you when its time to maintain that loss. By following the nurtrition and exercise plans on SP we can train ourselves into the maintenance mode as we lose.

    I am so proud of you in reaching your goal! Like you, it took me years to lose only 8 pounds, but by losing slowly I found a lifestyle and eating habits that I can maintain.
