Monster Bars...not from the Betty Crocker Cooky Book

Saturday, September 08, 2012

But this recipe is on the Betty Crocker website.
I made these for our Labor Day get together. They were definitely a hit. Oatmeal, peanut butter, chocolate chips and Sundrops (natural-type M&Ms).

What am I up to? Well today I ran 9.8 miles (10.17 with warmup and cool down). I got a butt cramp at mile 2 that only now has started going away (I had a swig of gatorade on the way home from the grocery store and a banana when I got home). Then at mile 3.5, I was bitten by what I think was a horse or deer fly. I couldn't see it but I heard the buzzing and then ouch on my neck. My husband didn't see a stinger (so not a bee) and it hasn't gotten huge (so not a wasp). Otherwise it was a great run :-)

emoticon emoticon on the great run. I guess that answered my question your ankle feeling better after that Color run incident then? Those look yummmy and dang it I did it again, looked at the picture before breakfast! emoticon

Be really careful with things biting you. My brother was just diagnosed last night with the West Nile Virus (there are 2 kinds) he has the encephilitis one that attacks the neurological system. When he got to ER he couldn't walk and he his head was huge from the fluid in his brain. It got to the back and they had to do a spinal tap on him to remove some of the fluid. They are transferring him to an acute long term hospital his recovery going to be long, poor thing and his wedding is on Oct. 20th! YIKES. We won't know how much damage until the neurologist sees him and tests him.

Just catching up. How are the bite and butt? I had PT today then a massage. Chiro tomorrow. What's cool is that they all know each other and 'consult' on common clients. I never in a million years thought I'd have this "team" to get me through this crazy month, but I love each one individually and collectively.

beautiful monster bars, there! Bugs can really put a cramp in runs sometimes, but it sounds like your long run was awesome nevertheless!

Hope you still have no reaction to the insect bite tomorrow, after that you will probably be fine
Nice long run
No fueling during the run, only at the end?
