Difficult People

Saturday, September 08, 2012

Sometimes I don't understand people. Seriously, it makes me even mad at times. Why is it that there are people who ask for help and support get all defensive when you try to help them solve a problem? It is not like they are judged for a certain behavior or attitude. I just wanted to help and I think if you don't want any help then don't ask or if you don't like the tips people suggest appreciate them any way because those people care. UGH...Thanks for letting me vent!! emoticon

sorry you had to deal with that Tibi. It's painful when someone lashes out at us...when we're simply trying to be helpful and understanding. Your heart was in the right place. Just realize you're not alone. I've been there.

You can't change people... You can only change how you react to them. Sometimes, it means pruning them from your life or keeping distance. For me, I had to move 900 miles from my blood relative. It was difficult but it was necessary.

I hear you! ........ I have found the same thing .... I have had this happen in the workplace... ...where my opinion and or advice was asked for ......... and w/ one in particular, what I said was not what she was hoping to hear, apparently as she quit speaking for over a year! So now I am more cautious. emoticon

emoticon I feel the same way. They need to learn to stop asking for help if they don't want to hear other suggestions or ideas.
