Need to find variety

Saturday, September 08, 2012

How do you come up with a variety of things to eat when you are watching not just how much, but sodium, sat fats, cholesterol etc.? On top of that I have two jobs and six kids so time just seems to run away and so by the time I am thinking about dinner I just go for an easy stand by like ground turkey tacos . I do not season with salt, I just allow the salt to come from the sodium already in the ground turkey. Other simple meals have been rice dishes, baked potatoes, or Ill fix kids something quick and pop a low sodium meal in the micro for me. I know I could use crockpot more but then the premeasuring and pre entering of ingredients to try and calculate a servings nutritional value gets tedious. Any other ideas out there?

Have you looked at the planned meals? I have SP do my meal plans and go from there. I do not have 6 kids to cook for though! I like the meal plans as I can put in what I need to reduce ( sodium, cholesterol, etc.) and it does it all for me. Sorry. Guess this is not much help.
