An old-fashioned calendar...who knew

Saturday, September 08, 2012

I'm well into a 90-day health/fitness program that I chose to take on as an experience that I have tried in the past...just never finished. I chose to take a bit different of an approach this time, since I couldn't seem to make it work any other time. This time I'm utilizing Sparkpeople and a calendar. One of those old-fashioned paper calendars with pretty pictures on it that you flip when the months change. I'd forgotten about those since I live on a computer or my phone 95% of my life. I keep the calendar in a place where I will see it at least a few times a day, in my bathroom. And I'm happy to say this little periodic reminder seems to be working. I write in the fitness minutes I did for the day, what type of activity I did to achieve the minutes and I simply draw a straight line through the day if I felt I did my best with my nutritional plan. My kids and I did a 2 hour bowling game last night and as I marked off my daily stats, I realized I have a lot of lines and numbers on each day of this 90-day journey. So I'm feeling pretty proud of myself and am looking forward to this evening when I will be able to take that calendar and cross off another day of success emoticon
