Yupper you saw that right... As of July of this year.. I have signed up for Ironman Lake PLacid 2013... My family thinks i'm crazy.. But this has been a 2 year journey for me... with progressive training that was laid our carefully by my Cardiologist, GP, Endocrinologist, and CHiropracter ... I even followed a modified Ironman Training schedule for when i trained for my Half Ironman. My body needs time to build it's endurance and doing that worked out great because i was sore at all after my HIM...
Several of my friends on Facebook have followed me progress.. there is about a 100 of them.. and where with the exception of my kids i haven't always had the familial support.. I do of my friends... and lots of you here on Sparkpeople.. I Know i haven't been around in awhile.. the training and going through and finalizing my divorce along with job hunting(still no job) has taken up alot of my time.. Good news is.. Sparkpeople even through i haven't been tracking my food about 1/2 the time has really helped... I have put back on 15 lbs.. not all is fat as my clothing size really hasn't changed and i've bought nothing new...well nothing new other than a bikini. ;) First in years..lol.. i still have some toning work to do... But as i'm currently training for Marine Corp Marathon, my focus is running.. the cycling and swimming have pushed to the back on days when i need a serious break of the pounding of the legs... or just an all over workout.. I've learned alot from some of my more seasoned and advanced triblub members to listen to my body... it really has helped me alot with not feeling exhausted and performing and fnctioning better.
So here's a question for all of you.. Even Sparkguy... Several of my FB friends who are nonsparkers are interested in my blogging my journey and quest to being an Ironman.. They know i use Sparkpeople as my nutrition guide because it 110% works for me.. Would any of YOU be interested in going on this next 300 day quest with me.. I can't guarantee a blog every day.. but i can 2-3 times a week. I'm told i'm a motivating person.. WOULD this motivate anyone??? NEver thought i would reach this level of excellence in my life.. and i know that level is different for everyone... But darn it.. since one of our fellow Sparkers Kobebrown put that bug in my ears 2 years ago.. It's a quest i have been on ever since.. Honestly lots of you have been my BIGGEST champions and support system... And i know i can do this without out you.. but i NEED to do this with all of you.. All of your encouragement and support over the years has helped me enrich my own life... I am happy.. Since the day i joined sparkpeople.. i have been happy ever since.. So i'd like to take you all with me on this journey... Let me know what you think. :)
