Day Five

Friday, September 07, 2012

Still hanging in there. Have resisted the cake in the cupboard simply because it feels so good to have NO HEARTBURN. I found some old green tea bags and had a cup of that when the urge to snack hit. Not too bad...but I might like it better if I buy some fresh bags. ;)

The day is just dragging. Yesterday it flew - probably because husband was home for company. I am not liking the fact that he's looking at six or eight (or more) months of heavy fire work. The gov't took away most of the Parks funding - reduced their supply budget scandalously - so there's not much more to do than hazard reduction burns, and wait for the bad wildfire season that's predicted. All which means way too much overtime and hard work. It's important work, all of it, but they really push the crews too hard during this time of year. Only good thing about having husband gone at dinnertime is I'm not tempted to have wee drinkies with him.

I will need to get some different ideas soon for breakfast, etc. When I get bored things will get dangerous.

I adore eggs, any old way, for breakfast but am trying not to eat them every day so I cook up a bunch of hearty steel cut oats and eat a bowl with a chopped apple or sliced bananananana and some walnuts a few times a week.

Hey Mrs. B~ *hugs* So glad to see you back on SP! I've been reading your blogs trying to get caught up as I've been so busy I've let some SP blogs fall by the wayside.

Isn't it amazing how we can make small changes over time with wonderful results! I've found I do so much better without wheat products and, of course, drinking water is fundamental. It's been about three years since I kicked the "Coke" habit and I don't miss 'em at all. Now, when I do have one, it's nauseating.

Keep up the good work you are doing for yourself~ you are worthy, dear heart. *hugs* BB~ emoticon

Great to be able to resist the cake - I would just have to put it in the bin!!! So sorry that you will have less time with your hubby when the predicted hot dry weather sets in - although we are all so blessed to have wonderful men like him at these times - I for one struggle to understand many aspects of govt funding - sometimes the priorities seem all wrong to me - but thats another story!!! LOL
Have a great week.

Good for you for resisting the cake! That's tough, I know it! No heartburn IS better, though :)
