The fall challenge for the Lime Team fits right in with my goals at this time.
I never have been what I would consider an athletic person. I started Crossfit not quite two years ago, and while I love it, I never have thought of myself as "good enough" to do any kind of competition. I have never participated in any of the challenges or competitions because I am afraid to fail.
When they had the open workouts earlier this year, I, as with last year, did not sign up - although anyone can do so. But our box started using the open workouts as a regular workout for one or two of the days during the week. For that reason, I looked a little closer at the website and the workouts. Imagine my surprise in that they had specific workouts geared for Masters (I am in the 55-60 division). As I read those, I thought "I think I can do this!"
So I AM going to sign up this time. I certainly won't be first, but my only goal is to be brave enough to sign up, and do my best not to be last. My beloved core and balance trainer that I work with once a week knows what I want to do, and is behind me 100%. Our session has focused on building up strength and endurance. And the box is also constructing workouts that will prepare us for the upcoming open.
I need to eat right, commit to consistency with my workouts, and focus on that ultimate goal of adding my name to the open workouts. I know I can do it!
