Changing Slowly in Radical Ways

I love how structured and determined you are. I wonder... were you like that when you were younger? I mean striving for goals, pushing yourself, determined, ect.? Just wondering because you seem to be good at it! You set a goal and go for it. So many people set goals such as a big race but let things get in the way.

The answer is no, I haven't always been like this, and I'm still happily astonished at how far I've grown in the last 4 1/2 years.

So that got me thinking about my journey, and I went gleaning through my blog posts here going back into 2008! Here are a collection of what I think of as my "best of's" because they reveal different emotional and spiritual milestones that helped me to grow and change all the way on the inside.

Okay read your post about eating in front of the family and being honest about your weight - transparency, and guess what? BUSTED! I have been sneaking to the work kitchen for a few extra chips and dips when no one was looking, justifying it because "hey, I will run long tomorrow." That is what keeps me in the same place weight wise.

So, plan to read the rest if I find I get time soon (yikes, time is getting away from me, again! Maybe if I stayed at my desk instead of finding two or three minutes to stuff my face with chips!)

Wow... you are even more of an inspiration looking back at some of your old blogs! A great lesson on patience and perseverance. It's nice to see behind the scenes of someone who has made such a life changing journey. To know that they had struggles and were able to get past them! I to this day don't share much of my weight loss or weight goals with my family, but I am changing that ....slowly! When my hubby gets back in a few weeks I plan on sitting down and talking to him about!

    THANK YOU!

Thanks for the inspiration! It reminds me that things DO take time, and that even when the weight might not be coming off (which it's not now cause I'm pregnant) I can still be making progress towards my weight & health goals. Thank you for that reminder I enjoyed going through your old blogs!

I enjoyed seeing the progression.. the evolution.. the coming into being that you've shared here on Spark. It's good to look back and remember where we've come from, and appreciating who we were then as well as now.
