This summer has been a doozy! I can only assume the stress finally got to me because I have spent almost my entire summer sick, sick, sick. Everything from the flu, to colds, bacterial infections, injuries, hair loss! I have had it. I am at the point that when I get a headache I keep apologizing to my husband bc he's had to step up as Mr Mom for his summer vacation, poor guy. The only positive has to be seeing him in a new, well actually, old light. He was there when I needed him, not one complaint.
I have been officially back on my feet for an entire week illness free and feeling like I can try this again! And boy oh boy is it needed, I've gained 10 lbs! Not only is there the gain but there is also muscle loss, decrease in endurance and motivation.
So what am I going to do about it? Detox. I need to rid all of the toxins and medications from my system. Skin, hair, body, mind. I am talking about 10 days of green smoothies, fresh soups, sassy water, green tea, spa water, apple cider vinegar, water water water. I am also going to throw in a few detoxing spa treatments. I will be trying my best to get restful sleep. As far as fitness, I am easing back in with my normal variety of running, weight lifting, walks, circuit training. I've been on two days of prepping and today is my go ahead!
*I wont be fasting* It never works for me! Instead I will be restricting my calories to a rather low number and adding 100 calories per day until I reach day 11 at 1200-1500 calories depending on my daily fitness level. After this 10 day detox, I am planning for a 1 month of get s#!% done! This is where I set goals and kick the s#!% out of them and myself. I miss my kick ass attitude! I miss a reason to get on Spark People everyday. I miss having goals and feeling motivated!
