Slim Happy Belly - Day One down

Thursday, September 06, 2012

Going to Jorge Cruise, I love the man - he's a sell-out now, but he worked for me in the past, so why not now?

Giving the Belly Fat Cure a shot, with his whole Slim, Happy Belly thing going on. This basically states two days out of the week you go sugar/carb less. Then you do the 15/6 sugar/carb thing (15 grams of sugar max a day, six servings of carbs, or 120 grams of carbs a day max) the rest of the week.

I tried to do Tuesday and Wednesday as my sugar free day, but it didn't work well as I was on furlough and I had to take the kid out to lunch after preschool and she asked for Chick-Fil-A, and I was weak, and wanted nuggets and barbecue sauce. So, I enjoyed my Chick-Fil-A on Tuesday and vowed Wednesday and Thursday would be my sugar-free days.

Yesterday I did well. I had my cottage cheese with walnuts for breakfast, leftover grilled chicken breast for lunch, peanuts for snack (the only sugar-free/low-carb thing out of the snack machine at work - that was painful as it was just restocked!), and scrambled eggs for dinner. I made the mug cake with almond flour for dessert, but I'm clearly allergic to something in it as my allergies went haywire shortly after eating it. (And I didn't even use stevia! I did end up using Sweet N Low, which, and I knew it would, sadly, give it a bitter aftertaste, but it was all I had... boo.)

Today's menu will be similar... but I'm excited to work bread in tomorrow! Yay! I went out shopping for some of the brands of bread and stuff mentioned in the BFC book, and was shocked to actually find them in Kroger. I didn't find the soy flour, so am going to have to hit Whole Foods this weekend to get that so I can make pancakes and blueberry muffins, but hey, at least what I have is a start to hitting my 15/6.

I haven't gained back ALL of what I lost on hCG (about four and a half pounds), but most of it (and I expected to).

However, I'm almost back down to my post hCG weight (two more pounds!), and that was after one day on the Slim, Happy Belly diet! And without drinking the appropriate amount of water! (And I weighed wearing clothes!) Woohoo!

mosieosie--did you just do the free pdf file for the two weeks? I am trying to do it and am on day 2, but find the menu very limiting.... too many nuts on the first two days!
I would be willing to share his menu for women over 40 if someone would share this new slim happy belly menu with me (the expensive program menus).....
carolward099--did you get in on the program? I am trying to chat with others on FB about menu ideas, but there were only 20 people on it, and no one is replying...

Mosieosie - did you find enough people to do the Slim Happy Diet menu exchange? I would definitely be interested. I really want to give it a try. Please let me know.

How did you do?? I have completed the 7 week plan and loved it. I am alone so I like having 1 serving meals. I also have been vegetarian for the last 4 years so I am making it work for me? I lost 6 pounds during the seven days and on the seventh day I absolutely felt my seratonin levels lift. I have been looking for his books to get more recipes and have not been successful so I am learning to tweek. I made almond cookies that I really love and one cookie was 1 carb and 0 sugar. I have been using stevia for awhile now and it is growing on me.

I did the Slim Happy Belly for two weeks. It worked very well for me and it was free. However, the next set of menus is going to cost $400 through his program and I am not willing to pay that. I send him an email back telling him his prices were too high, but I have not heard back. So, I want to see if I can find 6 or 8 women to go in on it, one person gets the menus emailed to them and then forwards to everyone else. Not sure this is kosher, but I don't think it is illegal, either. emoticon

Glad you've found something you're excited about which seems to be working. I forget--do you have problems with erythritol, too? It doesn't have the gastrointestinal problems of some other sugar alcohols. I don't know how it bakes, but I found it very sugar-like. Good luck!
