Daily Visualization

Today, visualize that you have reached your goal weight. What will this feel like? Imagine shouting it from the rooftops to everyone you know. What steps can you take today to get closer to this goal?

It will feel like the end of a very long journey to get to my desired weight. I read an inspiring quote yesterday -

A year from now you will wish you had started today!

I need to remember how important it is that I am making progress and will reach my goals. I know after getting to my goal there are likely a number of other things that will surface that will be important new goals. I am looking forward to that!

Seriously. When I started eating healthier I lost weight so easy, I kept telling my friends and family, "you just have to start now, there's no better time" but now that I've been lazy for a couple months I keep seeing all these dates fly by me... July 28th, my original 150 goal line... August 28th, my revised goal line, September 3rd, my birthday and next goal.... I just need to start now, hit that November goal and I will have spent a year of my life losing all that weight. (I started January and I thought it was going to be an easy 6 months, but I tell you what, those last 20lbs are so hard!!!) Keep your eye on the goal and don't let up for a minute

Excellent blog. We all need goals. Gotta take that first step and get started. No journey is without detours, but we learn from them, and get stronger

It is true that even though we are making progress, we may get frustrated, because success does not happen overnight. But, if we didn't go on a weight loss plan or find Sparkpeople, the time would still pass, years would still come and go just as they did before, and we would be stuck in a rut, forever obese. So, it is true, that one year from now, you would have wished you would have started a diet and exercise plan today, because if you had, in one year, look at all the success you would have had - all the pounds you would have lost, all of the inches that came off your waist, and hips and thighs, all of the fat that was burned. And all of the smaller sizes that you were slowly able to wear. In a year's time, you could go down many clothes sizes, believe me! I always go by the saying, "Every mountain that was ever climbed, began with a decision to take the first step, and then another, and another. And before you know it you climbed a mountain." Unknown. If you had never taken that first step though, you would never know what might have been - could have, would have or should have. Take the first step, and another, and another, and climb to the top of Mount Everest.

I love those visualizations (when they don't repeat.) I'm picturing shouting my weight loss from that mountain perch overlooking Salzburg, Austria.
I really enjoyed picturing today's image about discarding 1 pound dumbells as you walk and eventually being able to run freely.
Congratulations on the popular blog! You are very inspiring.

So true. Every time I have to adjust my goals because the weight isn't coming off quickly enough (sigh), I think what's the point. But then I look at where I started and realize that I am slowly but surely getting leaner and healthier. It does work, just not as fast as I would like.
