any of you ladies ever tried amberen?

Wednesday, September 05, 2012

I just ordered a 90 day supply. Yea, I'm desperate. This whole menopause/Peri menopausal thing is making me nuts. I was 1 month shy of of full menopause. Now, my hormones are crazy, I can't sleep, I'm bitchy, I have other issues that I'm just sick of and I believe it is not allowing me to lose weight ( even when I am not binging on cookies!)

Let me know if you have tried amberen and I will give an update after I complete my first 90 day course of it..

Nope...never heard of it. I just suffered through (and made my poor DH suffer with me) and then...it stopped. I get a twinge every so often, but not like I was. The other side of this is great. Isn't that sort of what you commented on my blog today, totally different subject? :)
The other side better be worth it!

Hum... Never heard of it. I do know that there have been a lot of studies on the effect of homone regulation on weightloss or the lack there of... Keep us in the loop.

No, so I am curious as to how it goes - you are the official menopausal guinea pig, Mama Girl. I do a hormone replacement therapy patch, and another hormone that I take each night (which makes me sleepy and, since insomnia is an issue, that is a nice side effect). I hate to tell you this, but you do know that exercise is one of the best antidotes for menopausal symptoms, right? I don't mean a bit of exercise, either - hard, sweaty (easy to do, given hot flashes), regular exercise. It has made the biggest difference for me. Menopause is tough, we are tougher. Sweaty emoticon

What do you mean 1 month shy of full menopause? Is there a way to tell? I'm just starting my journey, and so I'm not totally sick of it yet (it's not comfortable, but I haven't gotten too much weirder...yet). But I'm curious how you know you're 1 mo shy of the end?
I realize I'm not helping you at all with the amberen question, but I'm certain someone out there will know.
Hope today brings you a bit of relief.
