Crazy Cravings!!

Tuesday, September 04, 2012

So I lost 2 pounds this week even though my body fought me tooth and nail for every ounce. My hormones went haywire late last week so I: a) gained 3 pounds of water weight overnight - fun! b) had to nearly lock myself in a cell to resist totally out of control cravings to eat everything in sight.

I gave in to my cravings in a super controlled way so I could stay within calorie range - 1 oz of potato chips and a container of sugar-free chocolate pudding each day. But man, that did not feel like enough and even though I resisted the urges it was absolute hell. Just when I thought I couldn't take anymore I woke up on Monday and the cravings and water weight were gone - just in time for Labor Day.

This was the hardest weekend I've had yet, and I'm really hoping to not go through that every month. I don't know if I could be as strong next time around.

I don't know if I'm offering you sensible advice, but for me, I am so much better when I don't have any foods that are usually binge foods because I just can't feel satisfied with a normal portion. What I am aiming for is being able to go out to a restaurant and, as a treat, have a slice of cake, but consider it a special occasion, rather than the habit of my days.

Much success on your journey.

Once you get on a healthy eating plan, your body will soon stop craving some of these foods. I keep presliced apples in my frige and if I get a craving for some foods, I will grab two to three slices and a little peanut butter smeared on them. This is my go to snack
