I do my routine every morning . I walk and put other body parts to the torture test , today was no different . I want to warn you all . those rubbery things you pull to add tension to muscle you want to change . I had a long green rubbery thing and it was 4 inches thick and long . I put it around my feet and pull worked fine for many years . but today it snapped in half at full pull . it hit parts of me i did not want hit. perhaps my hubby might want to spank me but this hurt as it ricocheted off my feet and up my legs and hit the largest target on my person , so dear hearts be careful when you use equipment in your home . good luck I can laugh now its been over an hour . so i have a red welt. all of this from deep squats. emoticon emoticoncould not find emicotion thing for rubber thing but this works similar only no handles just flat rubber .strechy thing.

Oooh! I do not like those rubbery things either. They do disintegrate in time and that can happen. A towel can work, not as stretchy, but rolled up can still be pulled to help stretch yourself.

Thank you for commenting on my blog about hurricane Sandy.

I winced as I read what happened. I never like to get stung by a rubberband and I can't imagine how much that must have hurt. I hope it heals quickly.

Last year, about two weeks after joining Spark People, I bought a resistance band. My husband, who stands 6ft 6in, immediately started playing with it. As soon as he got it to full tension he picked up his heels. Based on your post, I assume you can relate... A full account is actually my very first blog over on my spark page. If you're up for a good laugh, chech it out.

Its always great to be able to laugh at yourself, and the stuff that happens to you. Hope your welt goes away quickly.

Just your title gave me a smile. I loved "Lost in Space" when I was a child.

Oh my gosh you are luck you didn't lose an eye! I stopped using those elastic workout bands just because of the potential problem. Sometimes it felt like I wasn't getting a good workout with the bands. Have replaced the bands with light weights. Carol

wow, I hope you are okay. Those elastic workout bands can be dangerous when they get old and used. I always buy new ones every other yr.
