Or am I just incredibly old fashioned for my age?
On Saturday we had a funeral for one of my favorite aunts and I will miss her dearly. It was the usual messy stew of emotions that these things are...disbelief, grieving, some laughter as stories are shared among others.
But on the drive from the funeral home to the cemetery...people were cutting in and out of the procession. This is not the first time I've been in a procession that others just couldn't seem to respect. And it's not the first time this rude behavior has made me turn purple, scream, yell and generally become the most aggressive driver on the planet to get that fool OUT of the line if he happens to be in front or behind of me. It seems to happen more and more often in the last ten years...I'm not sure if I'm noticing it because I'm driving or if it really is getting worse.
How much of a hurry can you be in that you can't wait for a funeral procession to pass? I know very well that these same people would probably NOT be ok if it happened to them so WHY the @#$& do it to someone else? What is wrong with this person that he thinks his wants supersede common decency? Or has common decency died right along side common sense?
Don't do this. Just don't do it. The people who are driving slowly behind a hearse with their blinkers on have enough to deal with. Do NOT add to their distress. Find a way around or just be patient.
