Parents' Friends for 50 Years Came To Visit!

Such FUN, but a LOT of work for me!!! But I would DO ANYTHING for my parents, so it was a Labor Of Love, but my back isnt feeling so lovely now!!! It sure is nice to be appreciated!!

This is my parents on the right and their best friends since school days! A very special day it was, Mom was SO excited and Dad behaved, so all went well!!!
I am so glad to be home, to a mess, but that's okay, I missed Doug, the boys, and dogs and even teared up asking Nick to kiss all my girls for me, WOW it sure doesn't take much to get the tears flowing! LOL!
And I think Dad is getting more comfortable with me helping him and cleaning him up after those "special moments"....Didnt bother me as bad either....PROGRESS!!!!
Now to work out the school, work, Nicks school schedule, this week should be VERY INTERESTING....Looking forward to a LAZY day, well today...

    Hi,
Funny how once our kids move out, we have to look after our parents. My dad died quickly in 2000. My mother is slowly fading away before my eyes. She has dementia. Her latest thing is not flushing the toilet, for whatever reason. When we are out, she doesn't sit on the toilet and believe me she is a bad shot so I go in and clean up after her and she gets upset with me insisting she had cleaned up after herself. If she did, then she did a poor job. I love her and now is my time to look after her. It is nice that your parents' friends came to visit. At 85, Mom's friends are either dead or in care facilities.

    You are a superb daughter! and you deserve the day off. But your parents look like they really enjoyed having their school friends around.

It's not often people even stay in touch like that anymore. My BF and I were talking about how few people we talk to that we knew when we were teenagers. I talk to more than he does, but he and I freak out when we realize we have known each other for 23 years. It just seem like I am that old! I met him when I was 14, so it's almost like he's been around forever!

Hope you get some rest and prepare for the week ahead. Kids have already started school here in FL, but a lot are starting this week in other states.

    That was such a great gift to your parents...and great photo..they all look so happy...and isn't it great to have friends that go back that many years.. not too many can say that..

    Oh, what a wonderful gift you gave to them. Memories they will cherish. They all look so happy. I'm sure you feel a great sense of accomplishment too in doing this for them.
