I know, I know, I've been so bad. But, I'm ready to get back into the blogging. I really do miss it. So, here we go: What's been happening? Well, a lot. Summer was fantastic (but short). We went to Kanab, Utah (that was our base) and did tons of hiking: North Rim Grand Canyon, The Narrows in Zion (6 hours!!), Antelope Canyon, White Pockets, Coyote Butes, Slot Canyon. I think those were the main ones. We were gone for 12 days. On the way home, we had to pass through Vegas. So, we sent the kids home (the 22 y.o. drove with the 9 y.o. and the 20 y.o. drove with the 17 y.o.) and DH and I stayed in Vegas for the weekend. He surprised me and got a suite at the Palazzo. We had a great time just shopping and eating (vegan food!).
Everyone is back in school. I now have 3 kids in college (oy vay) and my little princess is in 4th grade already. She was counting the days to get back. She loves school and I hope that stays with her throughout her schooling. My oldest is a senior at USC, 20 y.o. is in his 3rd year at junior college and is now figuring out what he wants to do: civil engineer (and, of course, play golf in college. Hoping he can get a scholarship). 17 y,o. just started junior college and is hoping to transfer to USC next year. So, everyone is busy. DD is playing soccer and tennis. She is a really great tennis player and her coach told us that not only is she good enough to play in high school, but, for sure in college. So, you know we are pushing for that. She wants to go to Harvard and play tennis. No idea where she got that from since we are all about USC!!
As for me, well, I'm doing. Since April 28th, I have lost about 12-13 lbs. Happy about that and I'm pushing through. I was supposed to train for a marathon, but that fell through. Had a problem with my side, so never started the training. This morning, DH and I met with a running coach and I think we might have fixed some things. Going to try the new technique once I get a metronome. Need to use that to keep my pace/cadence at the proper speed. DH ordered one on-line, so hoping for the best. I miss my running and want to train for another half. The coach said that there is no reason I couldn't do a full. We'll see!!
So, that's it for now. Going to go get ready for dinner. My oldest is coming home (haven't seen him in 2 weeks), so I'm excited.
Oh, on a sad note, last week we had to put our 12 year old Rottweiler down. There was a lot of sadness in our house. He is greatly missed. Thank goodness for our other 2 dogs. It definitely helped.
Koufax and I saying goodbye. Love him and miss him lots. (However, look at my arms. They look good for all the s.t. I'm doing with my new trainer!!)
Until next time-
