Life Isn't Always Sunshine & Roses...

Sunday, September 02, 2012

I know that most of my blogs are upbeat and positive, but want everyone to know that my life isn't perfect - far from it. So why don't my blogs reflect that? For one, I don't like focusing on the negative. I simply have a hard time writing blogs about anything that brings me down. But writing is easy when I'm in a great mood. But also I don't let life keep me down. I've been down in the dumpster years back and I had to work very hard to dig my way back up. Now when I start feeling a little low, I put on some fun and inspirational, upbeat Christian music! If I can't actually play music, I'm getting good at being able to just play a good song in my head. In other words, I can go to my "Happy Place". There is so much great music out there. I challenge those of you that think that religious music is just old hymns to see what else is out there. Don't get me wrong, I love the old hymns too. They all speak of God's amazing love for us and when we know how much He really loves us and feel that comforting warmth, how can we keep feeling down?

I am glad that you are upbeat! I need to listen to more Christian music. I've got lots of Maranatha tapes I should play. There's a book out about how thinking positive thoughts actually affect our health: "Who Switched Off My Brain?" by Dr. Caroline Leaf. She has proven that it affects our DNA as well. How about that? So keep up the good work!

I enjoy and look forward to reading your blogs.

I've spent the last 6 - 8 weeks really focused on gratitude. I realize that for every one of life's little irritations, there's something even greater to be grateful for! More and more, I find that I want to be around people who are positive; the negative people in my life rob me of my energy.

Keep sharing that positive energy; I truly appreciate it!!

I know where you're coming from... Most of my blogs tend to be on the upbeat side... just my way of trying to stay positive. No one is perfectly happy ALL the time. But we, who love the Lord, can still find joy ALL the time... I try to always remember this... even when I have to pull myself up from the bottom and give myself a good talking-to... :) And, yes, I agree... there is a LOT of wonderful Christian music out there crossing many genres of preference.
