My "Not to do" list...

Sunday, September 02, 2012

Started training for a 5k yesterday and loved it. I'm using a Sparkpeople training guide which after I was finished I felt just awesome. Tried it again first thing this morning only to end up feeling like it was the hardest thing my body could ever be doing. Disappointing but it's my own fault. I went pretty early so I hadn't eaten anything and I don't think I drank enough water either :( My body needs some sort of fuel to get it through a run, duh. So learning lesson for the day, if I intend on running in the early morning, I have to drag myself out of bed early enough to eat something and have it digested enough to not get cramps....then go running. Funny thing is, I already knew this and ignored it anyway. Hate it when I do that.

Congrats to you for training for 5k! You might hate dragging yourself up to eat early, but if you can have that awesome friendly, it will be worth it!

    Best wishes!

I did that a while ago and was very sorry. I was told exercising on an empty stomach is like trying to reuse a tea bag or coffee grounds, it just doesn't work. Though I have learned that something small like a yogurt, shake, etc before you exercise and another small meal after does work great. Take care.
