5k and start of the month measurements

Saturday, September 01, 2012

Okay, I wrote a really long post about today's 5K on my off-site blog, which you can read here: fuchsiagetsfit.blogspot.
com/2012/09/pawsox-5k-reca
p.html
To summarize, however: I finished it in 33:53, came in 14th out of 29 in my division [which shocked me!], and am really happy with my results. I learned a few things to change for my next 5K and I've got a training plan all set up for the coming month. I'm excited!

Since it's the beginning of the month, I took my measurements this morning as well. Losses are as follows:
waist: 1 inch
hips: 1 inch
thigh: 1 inch
arm: 0
neck: 0.5 inch
belly: 0.5 inch

My body fat percentage also went down to 25% from 25.6% last month, per www.healthcentral.com/ch
olesterol/home-body-fat-te
st-2774-143.html?ic=4004
[but that estimate may be off by 1 or 2% so it might not really be any change].

I love these results!

Weigh in tomorrow and that's looking gooooood. This week was MY week!

LOVE your off-site blog post!!! Also - adorable sneakers...will be a pity when you have to replace them!

We are opposite. I am definitely a morning runner, and all the races here seem to be in the afternoon. 2PM seems to be a running trend, and I was really worried about it because in normal life, I'm nearly dead at 2PM... but the race atmosphere helped increase my energy. Seems like it did the same for you in the morning!

I also know what you mean about the music. I pulled my headphones out for the last 25% of the race... they had local community bands playing music, and there were people shouting (encouragement, i guess) from the sidelines at me, and I couldn't hear any of it because of my headphones.

I'm still crazy impressed with your time! Have to say that again. haha. I just signed up for another race next weekend (on a whim) and I'm hoping to break my last time.... but that means getting under 37 minutes. Maybe I should use your tactic and start out in a higher pace group :-)
