There is good n news on this front. Needless to say that the Lord provides.
The legislation that would have shutdown the Tri County facility did not get passed so there was a reprieve there.
We found that a mental health facility hadn't had a volunteer for many years and were excited about the possibility so our volunteer who had been going to the Supermax is supposed to start going to that facility mid-month.
The Guards union sued to stop the shutdown so there is an injunction that is keeping the supermax open so our volunteer still goes to that facility. This does not mean that the Supermax is going to stay open, but it is going to stay open for now (since it was slated to close yesterday (8/31).
The prayers that we need:
- Praise for the opportunities that have been provided from our Lord's good and gracious bounty and that he sent his Son to be good news to share.
- For the staff of and communities surrounding these facilities as they prepare to face these drastic and potentially devastating changes
- for the inmates as they get shuffled around to different facilities.
- For the new facilities that will be recieving the supermax inmates. These are people that have killed guards and other inmates.
