My Heart STOPPED TWICE!!! Reality Check & New Appreciation!

Friday, August 31, 2012

Last week, I was in the hospital for "female" surgery that I had. I had to go under for the surgery in the hospital, well long story short the surgery was suppose to be short & simple but it wasn't. It was suppose to be less than 1 hour but instead was nearly 5 hours.

My doctor said that my HEART STOPPED and they had to resuscitate me with the defibrillator. So for over 1 minute I died twice on the table. This made me really see how important & precious my life is. All I could think about was my 2 BOYS!!! I realize that I can no longer take my health for granted. I have been on bed rest for 2 weeks & get to return to the gym next week.

My HEALTH is no longer on the bottom of my "TO DO LIST" it is now a "PRIORITY." I have started back tracking my foods in my personal journal. Even though I can't workout now, I can still track my foods. I am EXCITED about living & for this NEW REALITY CHECK & NEW APPRECIATION 4 LIFE!!!

I understand that my work schedule will not change so, I must be willing to make the changes. So I will be working out before I go in and push my start time back by 30-45 minutes because I really LOVED the way I felt when I worked out before work.

Just wanted to share what's been going on with me. So I may not Spark often but I am on the RIGHT TRACK!!

I WILL emoticon

Wow God is merciful. Wake up call are scary. I had one 16 years a near death experience but it was not related to my weight but asthma. I am a child of the king now. I do need to take better care of this temple.

I had a wake-up call this week as well. On Tuesday, I learned that I am diabetic and "not just borderline" according to the doctor. I also found out my cholesterol is 2 to 3 x higher than it should be. Not as scary as your experience to be sure! But it requires me to get serious about some lifestyle changes. I did cut my work hours so i can take better care of myself. My boss was very helpful. I haven't sparked much for a very long time, but tracking goals here helps me stay on track, so I'm back at it.

I am so glad you are okay and that your boys still have their beautiful mother!!! Take good care of yourself and I will doing the same for myself, just on the opposite side of the country. :) Take care!

Thank goodness the scale tipped in favor of your life. What an opportunity you have now. I'ts frightening how easily things could have gone the other way. This reminds us all that life is a gift & we are meant to take optimal care of ourselves & each other. I am so glad that your boys still have you & you still have them. Best of luck in your journey that now has the road to good health so clearly mapped out.

That is a very scary experience - I am glad you are putting your health first. Sometimes it takes an extreme life experience to truly put your priorities in order. The only way we can truly take care of our families is to take care of ourselves first...always remember what they tell on airplanes....put your own airmask on first then help those around you. Thinking of you.
