I don't know who Jodi Hills is or what book that quote comes from, but it speaks to me and maybe it speaks to you, too?
I'm not where I have been (thank God) and I haven't reached my goal, but I AM on my way. And just because I haven't reached my destination doesn't mean that I don't see the value in each step that brings me closer. Today I woke up and went for my walk and even though the weatherman says it's going to be hot and humid, at 8AM it was cool and breezy. The sky was blue and I noticed that there are a few leaves already turning red and orange. I managed to create a playlist on my MP3 player with all high energy songs and keeping up with the beat of the music helped to push me on my way.
I am not going to eat "food that is fast," instead I'll eat something delicious that nourishes my body, because my body is good and deserves to be fed well. I'm going to treasure my friendships and even treasure the heartbreaks, because they show that my heart was open. Today I'll smile and trudge and skip and walk and hope that today is a good day, and even if it isn't--it's still mine. Maybe tomorrow will be even better.
