Temptation thy name is cupcake!

Thursday, August 30, 2012

Not really. I lied, but it made a decent title, don't you think?

My boss's daughter's birthday was yesterday. I spent part of the day going into town to get balloons blown up when the helium tank we had at work died. Then I had to go back to buy more balloons because we didn't have enough. One thing I do love about my job is that I never know what fun thing will pop up for me to do. I've done the corporate "every minute of every day thing is always the same" and it's not very good fit for me. I really enjoy the flexibility of small business.

Anyway...back to the boss brought in left over cake and cupcakes this morning. One of the guys brought them back and put them on my work table. I looked in the boxes and felt not ONE craving. All I felt was "EWWWW" for the sugar and artificial neon colors, even though they were pretty. I told him to take the the sweets over to the tables where everyone else works because I didn't want any of them!

They tease me all the time about being a rabbit or a mouse for eating healthy. I scold them daily about Cheetos, Doritos, Gatorade, cookies and the like.

oh how I envy you your job!

Good for you on the rabbit food and, yeah, the colors are pretty on those, but you have to wonder at the 'cocktail' they have to cook up to make them!

Good job on resisting! My DH brought home some chocolate muffins the other day. I did eat one, but that was it - luckily for me, they weren't very good! They were small - about half the size of regular cupcakes, with no icing, but still, so not worth the calories.

They ARE very pretty. And as someone with a major sweet tooth, I would have had a difficult time resisting such pretty things. BUT YOU DID. You are doing so wonderfully! They say if you can go three days without sugar that the craving will disappear...and it is true. I've managed to do it and I felt wonderful. But then someone would bring something sweet and pretty to work and the rest is...well, history.

SO PROUD OF YOU!!! Kudos!! WOOT!WOOT! You the woman!

Good for you! Isn't it a reminder of how unhealthy we all were?

Keep it up! emoticon
