This is my first attempt at blogging. We'll see how it goes. I've been going out on a limb a lot these days so why not blog too?!
I just realized that it is exactly 30 days to the Portland Color Run (my first 5k). I signed up on a whim with my much younger (19 years), skinnier and extremely supportive friend quite awhile ago and here I am now just 30 days away. OMG! But to be fair to myself, I have been working hard to be able to run a 5K in it's entirety and I think I will be ready!! Holy cow, I just said I am going to be ready to run a 5K - I would never have thought, let alone, wrote down something like that 9 months ago!! It is amazing what can be done when you start to give to yourself and prove that you have more in you than you thought.
I'm going to try and blog a bit in the next 30 days about getting ready to do a "real" run and how I am feeling and have it be part of the training process. I'm hoping that by training as I have been, and will continue to do after my first official run, that I will be able to call myself a runner and believe it.
I've taken a lot of inspiration from people in this community that are ahead of me on their health journey as well as those people who are just getting started and am thankful for you all!
If you are reading my humble blog and you are runner (for a long time or just starting) I'd love to hear any tips that you may have for me!
