Wow...I have really not gotten back to regular logging in and tracking and blogging. I don't really know what my problem is except that things have been pretty busy at work (which is when I typically log on) and things at home were ridiculous last week. I have been eating healthy (except last Saturday) and while I am not fitness crazed as I have been in the past, I have been trying to get daily walks in.
So....here is a recap of last week.
My kids were in Oklahoma at my moms and she was supposed to come down on Sunday to bring them home and then stay the night with us. She called me fairly early and said that she was really sick and in a lot of pain and thought she needed to go into the emergency room because it had been going on for a few days and was not getting any better. So I drove up to Oklahoma to check on her and then get my kids brought back home. As a side note, her tiny town "hospital" is a joke. Seriously.
We drove home and got in around 8 and after a dinner of Subway sandwiches I started to feel sick to my stomach. I thought that maybe it was the chips and Light Vanilla Frappucinno that I picked up when getting gas earlier in the afternoon and tried to go to bed and sleep it off. The next morning I was a little better, but as the day went on I started to develop serious bloating and abdominal discomfort.

Again, around bed time on Monday night I started feeling really nauseous again. I half slept that night because I just became more and more uncomfortable as the night wore on. I woke up for work on Tuesday morning and felt like I had been run over by a truck. I made it into work and spent a good part of the morning doubled over because my stomach was cramping up so hard. I attempted to eat, but it was not a good idea. Pretty soon I was making trip after trip to the bathroom. Let me just say that having that "issue" while in the office is slightly embarrassing. Eventually my intestines were probably drained out and I started to feel a little bit better. Went home, made dinner for everyone and again, when I headed to bed, it all flared up again. My stomach bloated up like I was pregnant and I tossed and turned all night and fought the urge to get up and puke my guts up.
Went to work anyway on Wednesday morning and was an absolute zombie throughout the day. And once again, occupied the bathroom for a good part of the day. As long as I didn't eat, I was fine. But as soon as food hit my stomach and started the digestion process, I was in excruciating pain as well as having my "issue". Tried again on Wednesday night to sleep, but it was pointless. My stomach hasn't hurt that bad in a really, really long time. I decided to try to go to work on Thursday, but as the morning progressed I only felt worse and could not keep my eyes open so I left the office around 11. Went home and tried to sleep and of course my phone rang repeatedly, the landlord needed to come by to see why the A/C was dripping so much that our garage had a river running through it and multiple other things that would keep me from actually resting. Had another rough night but got up again and went to work on Friday. I actually felt slightly better that day and by the time I got home after work I was feeling fairly normal. I thought maybe it had finally passed. YAY!
Saturday was good. I spent the afternoon doing all the girls hair to get them ready to start school on Monday and then the bf and I went to our first roller derby match that night with some friends. I was able to eat again and we had a really fun time. I even went home and slept through the night. I got up Sunday morning a little groggy but feeling okay for the most part. A few hours later, I thought I was dying. I had a client over and was putting foils in her hair. About halfway through, it all came rushing back. And faster and worse than all the other times. I finished getting her color on and sat down across from her to talk while it processed and she stopped me at one point to ask if I was okay because I had gone "really pale". I informed her about having some stomach problems earlier in the week and that I kind of felt like they were trying to come back. And then I got up. And ran to the bathroom to throw up. It was horrible. I felt so bad for that lady sitting out there while I was hurling a room over.
She was really nice and understanding and even washed her own color out and offered to come back the next weekend to get her hair cut. And locked my door on her way out since I was in the bathroom getting sick again. That day was by far the worst. I was alone and had nothing at the house to ease upset stomach and there was no way I was leaving in the state I was in. So I suffered through it. And I pray to whomever I need to pray to that I don't have to deal with that again anytime soon.
However, the bf researched all sorts of home remedies for me while gone and sent me a video detailing how to ease the problem with warm water, baking soda and honey. I decided that it couldn't possibly make me feel any worse and so it was worth trying....and what do you know, but it worked!!!! I literally went to bed that night, slept all night and felt better the next morning than I had felt in a week. My son also woke up complaining the next morning that his stomach hurt and he felt like he was going to be sick and I gave it to him, and he was better in no time at all! Who knew something so simple could work so well. I even did it last night after dinner when I felt that same painful bloating trying to come back, and after about 30 minutes I was fine.
So, this has been really long and a little too detailed so I will end it with saying that sometimes the simplest thing is the answer. And I came out on the other side a few pounds lighter as a result. So it wasn't all bad
