Twenty Pounds - August 30, 2012

Thursday, August 30, 2012

Many have done blogs indicating what successive pounds lost look like, creating clearcut visual imagery, including myself sometime back. Some images included dog food bags (about 25 pounds) and another (my favorite!), an elephant's penis (one of the ones I included, about 60 pounds) to indicate what those pounds lost could represent. But this morning I was awestruck by a picture that was taken just two years ago, and one the following year that showed a 20-pound loss exactly. I honestly didn't think 20 pounds would show all that much. I was terribly wrong. See a "before" at 234.8 lbs. taken in April, 2010 and an "after" in March, 2011, at 214 lbs. If you ever wonder what a 20-pound loss would look like, keep these photos in mind, and remember to take many yourself. If you look on the weight tab on your SP weight tracker, you can track back to the date of the photos to verify the actual weight for that date as I did. Astound yourself. I'm still astounded this morning.

20 lbs is definitely quite noticeable. Lift a 20lb dumbbell at the gym and think of that now being off of your body! Also those pictures of a (gross) 1lb of fat... think x20.

It is a really AWESOME accomplishment.... and you will continue to succeed and meet your goals with your focus and dedication! You CAN do this!!

Cheers to astounding yourself! emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

I'm sorry to say I can't see a thing because of the dark clothing and angles, but hey 20 lbs is great emoticon

Amazing!! I also did not think a 20lb loss would be so evident. I also was wrong. I suppose I am going to have to get in front of the camera lens more often instead of always behind it.
You are doing so well!! I am still cheering you on and believing for good results when the "big day" arrives!!
Hugs and more hugs!!

I'm always surprised how much my Grankids weight. They grow so fast it's sometimes hard to catch them at a 20 or 30 lb weight.
