Improving faster than I expected!

Tuesday, August 28, 2012

So my recovery from sedentarianism has been faster than I had originally anticipated. Yesterday's boot camp left my back a little sore, but nothing major, and I didn't even feel compelled to take an ibuprofen. I wasn't feeling yoga this morning, so I didn't go, but I plan on sneaking in a bike ride tonight or a workout video after my dinner settles.

Dinner tonight was baked chicken, sweet peas, and green beans. I shouldn't have had the cookie for dessert (put me over my calorie range) but it was very tasty, and I don't mind.

I've been battling the kitchen, and victory is within sight! When I do the dinner dishes, that will put me at a single load to a clean kitchen. The only thing remaining will be a slightly cluttered but completely clean corner.

My husband still hasn't helped with them, but frankly, I just want the thing done. It's technically "his" job, but leaving it to him left the dishes in dangerously gross shape, so I'm just going to do it.

So for now, I'm just going to enjoy my 6 year old brushing my hair. It's been a very productive day.

It is difficult or impossible to change others, it's about the same for ourselves. But at least when working on ourselves, we DO have control. I'm proud of you for making all this progress, keep it up. But ditch the cookies. Tsk Tsk.

Hang in there. I totally understand that sometimes its just easier to do it yourself, but be careful because the resentment can really build up. Better to make sure he understands the partnership thing.
Take care and hope you continue to make progress!

Congrats on the productive feeling and getting all that cleaned up. Have you spoken to your husband about WHY you want it clean? If there's one thing about men, it's that they're clueless and aren't that good at thinking things through. He might not realize how bad it's getting. Also, letting him know it's important for everyone's health might light a fire under him.

Your doing good - keep it up. And enjoy that hair brushing - love it whem my children were younger and would want to brush mine.

Isnt cleaning the kitchen a nasty job - don't enjoy it at all but sure like it after it is all clean.

Have a great day making all those wonderful memories with your little one

Kudos on what sounds like a really good day! And I think you're ending it in ultimate luxury... someone sweet brushing your hair.

What a life!

You know, you've got a real dilemma on your hands with a passive aggressive husband. I know there are medical issues thrown into the mix. But when will you reach the point where you sit him down and read him the riot act? You're supposed to be in a partnership, after all! Each spouse has responsibilities.

I guess I'm just concerned that you'll burn out and be no good to anyone...
