Yesterday we started our third week of the HCG plan. Both DH and I have been doing well staying with the plan. We both have a some moments when we thought about "cheating" but we have taken on the challenge and have stayed true to the plan. This week I'm focusing on having more variety in the veggies we eat and I'm using slightly different spices. The first week and a half it seemed like we used a lot of recipes with tomatoes and spicy hot. I also found some true stevia. I just learned about how a package may be labeled "stevia", such as "stevia in the raw", and they still include other artificial sweeteners. Usually stevia is the least of the ingredients. Also, try sometime to locate broth that doesn't have sugar in it! I was surprised how many labels of broth read salt and sugar as their first two ingredients! I finally found the Rachel Ray brand without sugar.
So we're continuing on. The current plan is to go through most of September with this plan. I have been marking some of the recipes I want to keep using, even afterwards. It will be interesting to see how our tastes change through this process. I am learning to cook with more veggies. So I do believe, no matter how much weight comes off, that DH and I both will come away with some positive new habits.
