It was a whirlwind weekend. First off, we dropped our son off at college on Friday, for what we hope will be the start of a super college experience at the University of North Texas. Mom was super emotional. Felt bad leaving her alone on the 5+ hours ride home, as I had to drive on to Wichita Falls for the "Hotter n Hell 100" bike ride. On Saturday morning I took off along with 15,000 plus riders. The weather started off in the 70's, but towards the end my Garmin was reading 113 degrees. At one 10 to 15 mile stretch, the wing was strongly in our faces. The last part of the ride had us going into Sheppard Air Force Base. These folks had an aircraft exhibition followed by many Airmen cheering us on along the route. In the end, it was a good ride and I was happy with the results. Couldn't help but enjoy passing the young guys/gals on the uphills yelling, "Make way for this 67-year old who is kicking your young butts". HOOAAA!!
