I just got back from vacation, and managed to get a lot of reading done. While looking around blogs, I had found a site called nerd fitness, which is giving me another motivated push. Reading his into into fitness/life, gave me a tad of motivation that I just haven't had recently. New plan, new focus.
Diet: I've been trying to do weight watchers, but I just have been overeating. I try to be good-think I can have one serving of chips, one slice of pizza...and I just can't. At nerd fitness and DDP, there is a strong paleo influence which I have read about over the past few days. The thing I keep running through my head is, that I have never tried anything different, and this is where I am. It's not working for me, and I just don't have the self control to be good yet. my goal this week is to ease into paleo. I'm not going crazy tomorrow-I'm going to try to wake up and make eggs, lunch will be salad with store bought dressing (for now, baby steps though!), and steak, salad, green beans for lunch, berries for snack/dessert. My goal is to try for an 80/20 mix-being mostly on point, but a little wiggle room in regards to condiments. I just want to see if taking away the temptation helps me a little. Though, I am going to a minor league game on Friday so I might be saving up that 20%!
Exercise:I have been nothing if not erratic.my goals have been shaped by my vacation.
Goal 1 is to do the strength training exercises from on of the nerd fitness programs to ease my way back (the angry birds one). aim is 3 days a week.
Goal 2:While on vacation (Branson-gotta love groupon), we saw a Kung Fu show which was amazing, but, the guys were totally using dynamic resistance...so I am going to work DDP into my week as well. Starting low, twice a week.
Goal 3: this is up in the air. I am going to contact our local rec plex to see about the pool as both Brian and i love that part of our vacations. I am also looking into martial arts. The first experiment with krav didn't work out. I need more guidance, not so much random fighting. I would like to be able to incorporate one of them in. While I wait to get that done, I am going to get at least 2 pop pilates workouts in the week, as well as 2 puppy walks (basically planning 2 nights on either or each...maybe)
Finally, 8 hours of sleep at least. I should be snuggled down in 15 minutes, up at 8 to start my new morning, and at work by 8:30. I'm ready for it....I hope!
