My first ever Vision Collage - be kind!

Sunday, August 26, 2012

In my quest for challenges that will keep my butt in gear, I've joined the newest Biggest Loser challenge (BLC20). It's a little intimidating, because it's 12 weeks long, and, well, that's longer than any challenge I've done before. But I've got a great goal, beyond just hitting my final goal weight for New Year's Eve - if I lose the 18 lbs I'm shooting for during this challenge, I will have a healthy, or normal, BMI for the first time in a great many years!! Try and tell me that's not something worth giving my all for!

Like most team challenges, BLC20 has us doing pre-challenge prep, and a "vision collage" is being asked for this week. We were asked to find images that speak to our goals and inspirations for this challenge, so here's what I came up with, starting upper left corner and working around clockwise:

I love, love, love Jillian Michaels. I love her no-nonsense, take no prisoners attitude. I want to be her when I grow up emoticon So, who better to trust with whipping my backside into shape? I've got 30 Day Shred ready to go, 6 Week 6 Pack is waiting in the wings...

Current BMI: Overweight. Challenge goal BMI? Normal.

I think we've all found that our brain will tell us to quit long before our bodies do... Just have to re-train our brains!

This journey never really ends. The whole point is to keep growing, getting fitter, getting stronger. That means continually setting and achieving goals along the way.

My husband thinks I'm nuts, and I can't really argue... Who would have ever dreamed that a Puerto Rican girl would prefer running in winter temps than summer?! But I'm so looking forward to running outside, especially now that I've finished C25K!

I'm bound and determined to graduate from "girly" pushups to standard ones. I think I can do that in 12 weeks! Oh, and yeah, I'm shooting for the full 100...

I said I finished C25K - I never said I was fast. But that's ok. Dead last beats everybody sitting at home who didn't even try!

It's a long journey, and success doesn't happen overnight. It's a series of small steps that you have to string together.
