Day 2 & 3 - Life has it's Ups and Downs.

Well - I had a problem figuring something out on my computer and finally figured out why I couldn't add a blog entry. Be careful of pop-up blockers. That was my lesson.
Seeing as I share a kitchen with my MIL, we wait non each other to finish cooking meals before the other does. Well, last night (Friday) was not a good night. We were plagued with storms off and on all day and evening, so just as I am about to prepare dinner, MIL asks hubby to go out any buy her some chili from Wendy's. That's not usually a problem, but so many people were out on the roads due to the weather conditions we are expecting this weekend so that a little round trip of a whopping 6 miles, took 1 hour and 45 minutes. Then we would have had to wait for MIL to finish eating (1 hour and 30 minutes). Needless to say, I did not cook. We went out to eat and I went off my diet due to these circumstances. I could not eat vegan as I wanted, but I did the best I could. We went to Steak 'n Shake and I got the guacamole steakburger, but I asked to have the burger separate and to have additional tomato slices and lettuce on sandwich. Then, instead of fries, I got cole slaw. The burger came home and son had it in his eggs this morning. So, my sandwich was a whole grain bun, guacamole, pepperjack cheese (yes, I was bad), chipolte sauce, lettuce and tomato. It was yummy!! So I think a bad situation turned good all in all last night.
Now, today was just another roller coaster, but man-O-man did I blast any doubts out of the water. Finances are not good for us and I have to be careful getting groceries. I had $40 to get what I could for 5 people for a week, 3 meals a day. Luckily, I already had the meat and meat substitutes in the house as well as my non-dairy cheeses. I managed to get everything except the fresh produce on my list in the $40. Now, to find the money for that and hubby is asking MIL.
What's crazy is, we are under Tropical Storm Warnings right now. I am on the East Coast of Florida and Tropical Storm Issac is coming for a visit along the West coast and can be felt all the way over here. Tomorrow we have a 100% chance of rain and damaging winds. Monday it goes down to 80%, but still something else. I worry about a few neighbors as their yards are already flooded from yesterday's rains. Oh Joy!!
I am doing my level best to stay positive and I think this blog just might be the key.
