Pedometer update

Saturday, August 25, 2012

Well, I tried drying my pedometer out in rice but it's still as bad as ever, so I I took the plunge and got a fit bit... not cheap, not by any means, but it has great reviews and is TINY. Most of the pedometers I've seen were significantly bigger and since I wear it all the time, pretty much, that's a definite bonus. Plus, it updates automatically if I'm within 15 feet of the docking station and since I spend half of my day it seems at my desk--often before going to bed as well--then that should work out well.

So now I'm excited but a bit aghast at the money we dropped today... Not only did we buy the fitbit, but we ended up buying a bunch of other stuff as well... all things that we planned on buying, so it's not like it was a lot of impulse purchases, but still, it adds up. Ah well.

I can't wait until it all gets here though!!!

I've put one Omron thru the washer (forgot to unclip it from my shorts), somehow managed to get another one wet (don't dry it under a gooseneck lamp that bends too closely - it warps the front of the pedometer), and have kept the 3d one going. I kept losing the ones without lanyards - popped off all the time. Sounds like I need to check out Fit Bits.

I know you will LOVE your Fitbit as much as I love mine!

I only saw this today. I was going to totally recommend that you get a fitbit, but I see that you already did. I used to have an Omron pedometer and I loved it. But the fitbit is so much better. You can easily clip it to your bra, which you cannot do with the Omron (however, I would not recommend this if you are sweating a lot, because the moisture can probably kill the Fitbit). However, it is also so unobtrusive. I can clip it to my waistband pretty much any time (and if I am wearing a dress and not working out, yes, then I will clip it to my bra).

Fitbit has THE BEST customer service ever!!! My husband lost his fitbit less than a week after buying it, and they replaced it for free. Many similar stories abound, both on the net and on the SP Fitbit Team site (which is a great team, and I highly recommend it). Keep this in mind if anything ever goes wrong with the fitbit.

Well, I guess I didn't need to post that link to the Omron on your page, huh? I hope you enjoy the fitbit. Please post how you like it, as it might be something I would consider in the future. I'd love to hear how it works for you.

Sometimes it is a rejuvenating moment to have a new toy in the adventures for life you are committed to! I deeply hope that you enjoy your new toy and know that money is something we can always make back, but we only get one body. So what ever helps to motivate you and help you keep track of things is an investment, not an impulse buy : ^ )

yeah everything is SO expensive I can truly relate. A saturday spent going out to buy necessities can cost up to $300 and you wonder how that happened.

I pray daily our country will open its eyes and start the cottage industry back up and we will support it.

I stopped buying Vera Bradley and am purchasing purses called "stephanie Dawn" They are made in Ohio by the factory who used to manufacture Vera Bradley purses. Spread the word! thanks..
