Smartphone Phobic and Really Cheap!

Saturday, August 25, 2012

As much as I do yoga, maybe two or three times a week now ... never doing it at a yoga studio nor gym for about a year (and, in fact, I have been gym-free for over 4 years now) ... I need the above like a hole in the head.

I've got a limited data package, at about the most I could afford; and I had been dragged kicking and screaming into the smartphone era a few short weeks ago ... you could have heard about it on Facebook the world over, at the time (this was before I renounced Facebook) ...

In New York City, my 2G dumbphone could not get a signal and/or the battery went dead after 5 minutes.. this had been as long ago as 3 months ago. [Yes in another blog, I'd thought I had a 3G phone ... I had not known ...] I was unsuccessful looking for another dumbphone, as the only intelligence I ever needed from a mobile phone was the ability to take pictures and videos, the shortest memominder audio clips and to tell me the weather once in a while....

Enter RadioShack (again - just like 24 years ago!) and the lady there got my ZTE model Android onto Pandora in the blink of an eye ... !

I wish my smartphone would do what I tell it to do ...

Sometimes, you have to separate the hackers from the manual readers ...

Even at work - and I'm the resident "tech guru" of sorts - I read the "Help Screens" all the time. Only thing is, I can read them FAST ...

well I'm glad I inspired you to blog at least. I have a 3G phone with no data package. I use my phone to do something not many people do anymore. I use it to make calls. Not texts but actual phone calls. Of course the fact that I live in a place where cell phones don't get signal is a big part of it. I'm not tech-phobic. I'm just practical.
